What is the Wii Gamecube controller?

Standard Gamecube controllers for plugging into the Gamecube slots on top of the Wii.

Why would I want one?

Well, the Wii is completely backwards compatible with the Gamecube and will happily play all your Gamecube games, but only if you use a Gamecube controller. If you already have a Gamecube you'll probably have one already, but if you're new to the world of Nintendo console gaming you could do far worse than pick up some of the Gamecube classics for your Wii. Instantly you've added hundreds of games to those you can play and whilst there are still relatively few Wii games available, this expands your options considerably. Consider also that Gamecube games can be purchased for a few pounds (link) then it makes even more sense.
